About Us

Welcome to Children’s Dental Center

Our goal is to provide the best possible dental care to your children and to teach them good dental habits from an early age.

We strive to attain this goal by:

  • Creating an office atmosphere which minimizes children’s dental fears;

  • Using a team approach for the delivery of dental care consisting of the dentist, staff, parent, and child;

  • Employing a staff specifically trained to treat children and sensitive to their needs;

  • Considering your child’s needs, stage of dental development and behavior, along with your parental concerns when designing treatments.

Dr. Ortuzar and her team encourage you to ask any questions regarding your child’s treatment or how they did while visiting our office.

It is our intent that you leave our office pleased with the quality of care that your child has received and the professional manner in which it was administered.

"Ella and I wanted to say ‘thank you’ for your time and kindness. You made Ella’s first trip to the dentist so special, despite the circumstances with her painful accident. It is so nice to know that we have a dentist for our children who really cares and is available in emergencies.  Thanks for putting our minds at ease! Ella can’t wait to go back to the dentist."

Leah and Paul Lawson

"I have been coming to Children's Dental Center since I was 11.  Dr. Ortuzar has inspired me to pursue a career in Dental Hygiene.  I believe after meeting her that it is possible to be a mom, a wife, and a caring decided professional.  During the summer of 2007 I am doing an externship in her office.  My goal is to contribute to this community and to our world.  In the fall of 2007, I will begin attending school at Shoreline Community College."

Why was I referred to a pediatric dentist?

There are many reasons why children come to a pediatric dentist. The pediatric dental specialist has a minimum of two additional years of education just in dentistry for children. Some children require a lot of tender loving care to get through their dental appointments. Other children are in need of extensive work that requires a highly trained efficient staff familiar with children’s needs. Still other children just prefer an environment designed specifically for them with other children around.

By referring your child to our office, your family dentist has recognized that your child might benefit from the additional care, time and effort that a specialty office can provide. Your dentist wants your child to receive the best care possible, In an office designed just for kids so that they might develop into an excellent adult dental patient and be rewarded with good dental health throughout their lives.

We realize that you are entrusting our office with the dental health of your child. We commit to you that we will do everything humanly possible to deliver excellent dental care to your child in a professional and courteous manner. We committed to keeping you informed of your child’s current dental health and preventing future dental disease through semi-annual dental examinations, cleanings, fluoride treatments and sealants.

After Hour Dental Emergencies:

Dr. Ortuzar believes in being accessible to her patients. She is available 24 hours a day to care for any emergency needs or concerns of her patients of record. Should you need to contact Dr. Ortuzar after hours she can be reached by contacting her office Number 425-355-1136 or 425-745-9435 for referral to her present location.

Insurance and Fees:

We accept most major dental insurance plans. we are a preferred provider for Washington Dental Service (WDS or Delta Dental) and Regence Blue Shield. Your insurance company is a third party in payment participation of your child’s dental treatment. While it may help pay part of the cost of your child’s care, it may not cover the entire amount of the services provided. Please understand that we can only provide you with just an estimate of your insurance benefits. Our estimate of your insurance benefits is only our "best guess" regarding the extent to which your insurance might be expected to pay. In order for you to receive the maximum benefits available from your insurance, you will need to provide us with as accurate dental information as possible.

We are a fee-for-service office, so we ask that any amount not covered by insurance be paid at the time of service. Patients are fully responsible for payment of all treatment, regardless of insurance coverage. In addition, we take Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card.

HOSPITAL AFFILIATION:

It is sometimes necessary to provide dental treatment to young patients with special needs under general anesthesia at a local hospital. Dr. Ortuzar is on the staff and maintains privileges at Stevens Memorial Hospital in Edmonds.
